Holyhead is situated on Holy Island, a small outcrop of land off the West Coast of Anglesey. If you are travelling there are links with coach, train and ferry. Holyhead has a shopping centre, cinema, sports centre, sailing school and many safe sandy beaches within easy reach. Some of the many other attractions found on Anglesey are listed below:

Plas Newydd
Plas Newydd is one of the UK's finest mansion house settings containing the largest collection of Rex Whistler works. There is a Military museum with relics from the battle of Waterloo, large gardens with walks through the woods and alongside the Menai Straits.

Stone Science
Stone Science is a family owned friendly museum of geology and archaeology with a difference. Inside are a series of dioramas depicting the evolving ages of the Earth, including Dinosaurs! There are thousands of fossils, minerals, crystals, Native American arrowheads and more.

Anglesey's Model Village

Anglesey's Beaches
The spectacular and diverse nature of Anglesey's coastline means most of it is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and has long attracted a wide variety of wildlife and visitors. Choose sweeping sandy beaches like Llanddwyn, Red Wharf Bay, Benllech and Cemaes, or smaller coves such as Porth Swtan, Moelfre, Cable Bay and Porth Cwyfan. Water Sports fans may prefer Rhosneigr, Beaumaris or Holyhead.

Anglesey Circuit
Anglesey Circuit was opened in 1997 as a fully licensed MSA & ACU championship track. Since then the number of events held has been steadily increasing and currently the circuit is in use around 45 weekends of the year.The circuit has been seen on TV and is used by car magazines.

Anglesey Sea Zoo
On the shores of the Menai Straits is Wales' largest marine aquarium - The Anglesey Sea Zoo. With over 50 species you can see crabs, sea horses, sharks, lobsters, piranhas and more. The Sea Salt factory is next door and there is a gift shop, cafe and plenty to keep the kids quiet!

Parys Mountain
This mine has been worked since the bronze age - 3,500 years ago, and during the 18th & 19th centuries it was the largest copper mine in the world. It was last worked in th early part of the 20th century.
